MicroE Systems' announces four major product initiatives at Semicon West.
Visit us in San Francisco at booth 5682, in San Jose at booth 9820 to
see the latest product developments.
New Product Announcement:
Mercury 1800, Digital-in-the-Sensor Encoder
The first announcement is the new Digital-In-The-Sensor Mercury 1800.
Similar to our popular model 1500, it brings performance to an even higher
level. The new Mercury 1800 can be ordered with resolution to 50 nanometers,
linear or 6.7 million CPR, rotary. What's more, this model now has a high-resolution
index pulse good to 1 LSB. The new Mercury 1800 is now, the world's highest
performance, miniature Digital-In-The-Sensor encoder, making it the best
in its class.
New Product Initiative
Now In Development:
Mercury 3500HA
Ultra-High Resolution Short-Range Accuracy
Our next important announcement is the new Mercury 3500HA development
program.
This new design will achieve a dramatic improvement in short-range accuracy.
While standard models offer intra-fringe accuracy of ± 0.12 microns,
the new Mercury 3500HA delivers an intra-fringe accuracy of better than
±50 nanometers. That makes it ideal for high-speed nano-positioning,
control of velocity-ripple and other demanding applications.

New
Product Initiative Now In Development:
Mercury Absolute Encoder Program
Absolute encoders have traditionally been large, expensive and difficult
to integrate into applications like wafer handling robots. MicroE Systems
is solving these problems with its latest encoder initiative, the Mercury
Absolute encoder. The new Mercury Absolute encoder will be tiny, very
thin, very fast, and extremely accurate. And this will make direct-drive
robotic systems perform better while costing less.
The new Mercury Absolute
will give designers enough resolution to eliminate the gearbox for cost
reductions and space savings in your next generation designs. And because
it's a kit encoder in a tiny module, it can fit where no other absolute
encoder would even be considered. And, it can be ordered with large through-hole
code wheels, from 2 to 5 1/2 inches in diameter.
Outstanding performance
will be standard with the Mercury Absolute encoder. It will give you 24-bit
resolution at startup. No "start up" move or "bumping"
will be required. And most importantly, there will be no need for battery
backup. The Mercury Absolute encoder will be the right answer to all high-performance
direct-drive applications.

New
Product Announcement:
The ChipEncoder
Our final Announcement is about MicroE Systems' miniature encoder designed
for high-volume applications. It's called the ChipEncoder, and it redefines
high-performance, low-cost closed-loop motion control. This encoder measures
6mm square and just 4mm high, so it's easy to fit into designs where space
is tight. Interpolated linear resolution ranges from 10µm to 1.0µm;
rotary resolutions from 3,000 CPR to 163,000 CPR. There's even third channel
for a bi-directional reference mark. With the ChipEncoder, you no longer
have to choose between high performance, small size and low cost.
The ChipEncoder is the right choice for these and other applications:
Robotics
Office Automation Products
Miniature Actuators
Medical Instrumentation
Rotary Motors
Automotive Systems
