DRC Encoders
Now Available from
MicroE Systems

GSI Group’s Precision Motion Division announces the addition of the DRC Encoders product line to www.microesys.com, complementing MicroE Systems’ Mercury™ Encoders product line. With both DRC Encoders and Mercury Encoders brands, MicroE Systems now has an expanded portfolio of encoder products to satisfy a wide range of applications. DRC Encoders add new rotary and linear mounting options, encoders with integral bearings, models that are sealed for harsh environments, and purpose-designed encoders for rotary motors. DRC encoders are ideal for automation, semiconductor process equipment, rotary motors, and other OEM applications. DRC encoders continue to be manufactured to the same rigorous ISO9001:2000 quality standards in GSI Group’s Precision Motion Division facility.

The Mercury™ 1500V is the latest addition to the Mercury digital output encoder line. Providing digital signals from the sensor makes it ideal for applications with high EMI noise levels. Output resolution is up to 0.5 microns at 1E-8 Torr.

The new Mercury™ 1500V digital output encoder is the smallest high-performance encoder available for linear or rotary vacuum applications. Rated to 1E-8 Torr, the sensor is vented, constructed with vacuum compatible materials and rated for 48 hour bake out at 150°C.

The Mercury 1500V produces A-Quad-B and index window digital outputs directly from the sensor. All electronics are housed within a casing that measures

just 8.4mm tall. This low Z-Height
sensor makes the M1500V kit encoder ideal for motion platform designs used in semiconductor processing equipment. Electron microscopy, and other demanding vacuum-rated applications also benefit from the Mercury 1500V's small size and high-performance.

The small size and affordable price of the Mercury 1500V will reduce the cost and size of your motion platform, while significantly improving its performance. Available resolutions range from
